CBD Oil And Cream For Pain – Effects and Dosages
Large population-based surveys show that one in five Canadians lives with chronic pain. In most cases, recurring pain cannot be eliminated completely. Most medications and other treatments only manage the condition and improve quality of life.

CBD (Cannabidiol) is one of more than a hundred naturally occurring chemical compounds in the cannabis plant. Unlike its counterpart, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBD isn’t psychoactive and won’t get you high. Processes in the body such as appetite, metabolism, mood, and pain management are regulated by the endocannabinoid system.
Scientists believe that cannabinoids interact with endocannabinoid receptors and in the process make them more effective. This is probably what gives cannabidiol its anti-inflammatory, pain relieving and anti-anxiety properties.
Autism has no cure. Some traditional treatments include: speech therapy, physical therapy, play therapy, and occupational therapy. All these help manage the condition and prevent it from getting worse. Recently, many people have turned to cannabis to help with the treatment of ASD.
The two most popular chemical compounds in cannabis — THC and CBD have been known to produce certain effects when ingested.
Recent studies and anecdotal evidence suggest that cannabis products are effective in the treatment of autism. Let’s get into the details.
CBD For Pain Relief
The prohibition of the use of marijuana in the 20th century sparked scientists’ research on the plant and its effects. Today, a significant number of people are using it to treat chronic pain.
Chronic pain is difficult to manage and can put people in agony. Several studies on the use of cannabinoids for the treatment of pain in the last four decades were reviewed.

One of the benefits of CBD is that there are no serious side effects. In CBD for pain relief study, scientists applied CBD gel to rats with arthritis for four days in a row. The amounts given were 0.6, 3.1, 6.2, and 62.3 mg per day. Pain and inflammation in the rats’ joints were greatly reduced. There weren’t any adverse side effects.
In the research, rats that were given low doses (0.6 and 3.1 mg) showed little improvement while those that received 6.2 and 62.3 mg showed significant improvements. Aside from that, the research shows that higher dosages of CBD can be ingested without any issues. Learn more. This research isn’t definitive and more need to be done (preferably with human participants) in order to ascertain the pain relieving properties of CBD for pain management.
CBD Dosage For Pain
No relevant bodies have approved CBD dosages for pain as more studies are still underway. Factors such as severity of the condition, metabolism, age and body mass index (BMI) affect the potency of CBD products.
Many of these products come with labels indicating the amount of CBD. However, you should never follow them religiously. Consult with your care provider to see whether the products are legit and to determine the ideal amount.
In addition to that, listen to your body. Experts recommend starting with lower dosages, for instance 40 mg per day. Keep going up till you find an amount that is effective. Avoid overdosing as it could worsen your situation or cause adverse effects.
